According to the Health Minister of Delhi, Mr. Saurabh Bharadwaj, who presided over a meeting of senior government officials on Thursday, there are now 19 cases in Delhi, but there is no reason to fear because the government is closely monitoring the situation and equipped to handle any emergency.

In the meeting, he stated that the positivity rate is over 10%, but since fewer tests were performed, it is not concerning. He added that the genome sequencing of samples has revealed strains that are not concerning after the city reported 300 daily cases for the first time since August 31 last year. He also revealed that the health official found viruses in the sample of sewage water collected throughout the city.

Mr. Bharadwaj recommended that persons with influenza or flu-like symptoms who were visiting hospitals use masks. Lastly, he added that on Friday, the Chief Minister, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, will preside over a meeting to assess the COVID-19 issue.
